Practice Description My experience includes working with adolescents, adults and families focusing on strength-based Family Systems Therapy and resiliency. My belief is that clients and families are “the experts” in what they need. What “works” for one individual or family may not necessarily work for another. Every family has their own stories that are like a tapestry with distinct patterns and threads woven throughout. The challenge becomes supporting each member in “owning/sharing their voice” in a way that is self-defining and self-empowering. Whether this is managed directly within a family system or in individual or couples/marital therapy is up to the client. Our first meeting will cover “What’s not working” and also, “What’s working?” in order to respect boundaries. Issues include: depression, anxiety, marital conflict, grief/loss, chronic illness, women’s issues, trauma, developmental issues, family of origin issues, and stress management.
